Abstract

I want to thank you for inviting me to Antioch College for Martin Luther King Day. This is my first visit to Antioch. Usually I participate in the week-long celebration sponsored by the University of Michigan during which different departments organize workshops and panels tying in Martin Luther King with special goals of their department. In 1992 I participated in a wonderful "Futuring Conference" organized by Bunyan Bryant, for which I wrote the vision of Detroit Youth: 2032 A.D. which has guided my programmatic activities ever since. Last year I spoke on a panel organized by the Political Science graduate students. Tomorrow I will be speaking at an Environmental Justice panel organized by the School of Natural Resources.
