Abstract

This past year, one of my daughters was a member of the swim team at our local public high school. When I went to watch a meet, however, I had trouble telling which team was winning which race because not all the members of my daughter's team wore the same kind of swimsuit. There were, I learned later, insufficient funds in the school budget to provide the girls' swim team with a full set of suits.
