Abstract

The end of April marked the tenth anniversary of the fall of Saigon and the final withdrawal of all U.S. forces from South Vietnam. It was and is a time for stock-taking which indeed has been much in evidence in the media, both print and electronic, these past few weeks. What lessons have been learned? What is their relevance to the present situation and the many signs of a rapidly maturing crisis in U.S. global policy?
