Abstract

The trend in children's films which has characterized Hollywood's output for more than a decade is a sober reflection of the changing status of children in our society. Ours is not a society that nurtures children. The Reagan cuts in aid for pre-natal nutrition, school lunches, daycare, and childhood immunization programs are recent political expressions of a larger indifference.
