Capitalism and Unemployment

Abstract

At first glance it might seem that the labor supply or labor force is a very simple concept, and indeed this is the case in a rationally planned society, one in which the producers themselves are in control of what and for whom goods and services are to be provided. There the problem is obviously how to make best use of the ability and need to work of the entire population, due regard being paid to differences in age and physical capacity.
