Abstract

The nearly successful army coup on July 10, 1971 drew attention to the deep crisis which exists in Morocco but until then was virtually ignored by the world press. More recently this crisis has been underscored by the dramatic assassination attempt on the life of King Hassan II by elements of the air force on August 16, 1972.
