Abstract

From Morro da Queimada, from this Villa Rica de Duro Preto, the heart of Minas Gerais, which is the portrait and synthesis of Brazil's misery, I write to you fellow citizen and companion, to you living in the fields and in the cities, waiting for the hour of your redemption, and I am sure that you will listen to me, because I am not any longer a voice lost in the vastness of our country.
