Abstract

Monthly Review is growing in stature. Many of us now regard it as our keenest analyst of the world scene. Its emphasis on socialism as the answer to the problems that confront America is far more realistic than the prescriptions of our timid, straddling, liberal publications for more social controls instead of more social ownership. Nevertheless, it seems to me that there are certain respects in which MR is less effective than it could (and should) be.
