Abstract

As MR readers know, we thought there was a good chance that Reagan would be defeated in 1984. It is perhaps worth summarizing the reasoning that led to this conclusion. As a proportion of those eligible to vote, the U.S. electorate (those actually participating in elections) had been shrinking throughout most of the present century.
