Abstract

In a recent issue of the Monthly Review (December 1980) Nicos Mouzelis has provided us with a new discussion of an old question. On the basis of what criteria can one classify an economy as developed or underdeveloped? Although it would appear that the problem of methodology is important and should be treated explicitly, Mouzelis prefers to examine the case of modern Greece, his main concern being not that "of definition but rather that of identifying the fundamental differences between Greece and its European Economic Community partners."
