Abstract

Marxism grows and develops through the historical experience of class struggles and their reflection in the thoughts of leaders and participants. The two greatest periods and sources of such advance have been the Russian and Chinese Revolutions. While it is of course much too soon to come to any final conclusions, the death of a great leader like Mao Tse-tung inevitably marks a turning point and invites consideration of what has been accomplished during his lifetime.
