Abstract

A recent article by Mario Cogoy contains an interpretation of Marx's theory of capital accumulation which appears to be shared, with variations, by a growing number of Marxist economists. This is a complicated and difficult problem which I have no intention of trying to treat exhaustively in a brief essay. But there are a number of basic points of view expressed or implied in this literature which seem to me erroneous, potentially seriously misleading, and hence in need of explicit criticism.
