Abstract

Nikita Khrushchev did not invent the idea of burying capitalism. For at least a century socialists had been threatening to push capitalists and capitalism into the graveyard of history. The followers of Karl Marx expected that an ailing, decrepit capitalist system might last out the 19th century but that it would soon yield place to socialism.
