Abstract

This article has three main purposes: (1) to demonstrate that there is a growing financial crisis in the capitalist world—a crisis based on the titanic power struggle now taking place among the major capitalist powers; particularly between the United States and Western Europe; (2) to demonstrate that this crisis cannot be resolved unilaterally by the United States, despite its enormous economic power; and (3) to suggest some of the possible results and outcomes of this crisis.
