Response to "Beyond Automation"

We print below additional comment on "The Triple Revolution" initiated in the November issue of MR. —The Editors

In "Beyond Automation," George and Louise Crowley make a notable and long overdue attempt to stimulate a transcendence of naive Marxism when they point out that, "The Industrial Revolution triggered the rise of socialism; the cybernation revolution calls for something beyond it, which as yet has no accepted name." Their article is of value to the Left if it does no more than to establish that idea and excite some new critical and creative thinking about the social and economic relationships that a cybernated era might make possible. In other words, theirs is a service to vision.
