Abstract

"Castro's days as Communist dictator of Cuba would appear to be numbered. Castro cannot be permitted by U.S. to build Cuba into a big base for export of Communism through Latin America." (U.S. News and World Report, December 18, 1961) After the Castro regime made clear its determination to organize and administer a socialist Cuba for the benefit of Cubans, it was only a question of time before land and other resources were taken over, basic units of the economy expropriated, and profiteering and corruption eliminated, as the Cuban people passed through the drastic processes of a social revolution.
