Abstract

The 1952 presidential campaign has just got under way with the New Hampshire primary, and it seems appropriate to take a preliminary look at the candidates and the issues. The first question that presents itself is this: Which candidacies are to be taken seriously and which are to be treated as maneuvers that really aim at something other than the presidency?
