Abstract

The danger inherent in the Supreme Court decision affirming the conviction of the eleven Communist leaders and thereby sustaining the Smith Act is best shown by a recital of the elementary facts: The Communist leaders were not convicted on charges of conspiracy to overthrow or try to overthrow the government by force and violence.
